The Finance Transformation Programme (FTP) has now moved into its design and implementation phase, having consulted with 1,450 staff members during its Discovery Phase and secured funding from the Planning and Resources Committe in 2021.

FTP is an ambitious programme which aims to improve the way Finance supports the academic University. It will lead to a modern financial reporting system, improved policies and practices and a better experience for staff who manage finances as a small or large part of their role.

In the last few months, the Programme has introduced a modern digital expenses system in 16 departments and is now planning to roll this out across the wider University.

In the coming months, the Programme will build a team to lead the development of these new systems as well as launching pilots for our Strategic Procurement and Purchasing (SPP) project to test the University’s new approach to buying goods and services.
