The Simplifying our Processes (SoP) team is pleased to announce the launch of the next Lean Practitioner Training course on 2 and 3 March. This is a Lean Competency System (LCS) accredited course. The team achieved accreditation in September 2020.

What does the course involve?

The course involves a two-day training session followed by completion of a six-week project. The project should be relevant to your normal work/team/institution with tangible benefits that can be felt by your colleagues. It should not be seen as something additional to your normal day job but something which enhances the way you and your colleagues work.

Successful completion of the course will result in the awarding of a certified Lean Practitioner qualification.

What are the course criteria?

The cost for the course is £150 which covers the licence cost for accreditation and you can sign up here

To be eligiable to attend, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be a staff member who has attended the Introduction to Lean in HE - Making Improvements in the Workplace course
  • Completion of an open-book "LCS1a" on-line test (this will then provide LCS1a accreditation).
  • If you are a candidate who attended the Introduction to Lean Course prior to March 2020, you will need to complete a short bridging course to support completion of the LCS1a assessment
  • Commitment to attend on the specified dates
  • Provide a receipt of a commitment to pay the course fee (purchase order or payment via e-sales)

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Your place will be confirmed following the receipt of a purchase order or payment via e-sales.

Why attend?

Feedback received by the SoP team following the Lean pilot on 12 and 13 January 2021 has been very positive and includes:

"Unbelievable amount of material covered in just two days"
