We have created an Effective Meetings toolkit, designed as a comprehensive guide containing top tips, handy checklists and ideas from University staff. It covers all elements of meeting organisation, from scheduling and chairing a meeting, to attendance, minutes and follow-up actions.  Use the contents to navigate to the sections relevant to your needs, whether this be –‘do I need to hold a meeting?’, to guidance for meeting Chairs. In addition to the toolkit, there is a guide to online meetings as well as a series of meeting case studies and videos. 

We hope these resources give you the tools and confidence you need to help the meetings you organise or attend be a positive and productive experience.

Chair Q&A

We asked you to submit your questions to Professor David Cardwell, Professor Patrick Maxwell and Dr Karen Kennedy on the subject of chairing meetings. These videos make for excellent viewing whether you are a current or future meeting chair, would like to know how best to chair a remote meeting or even how to manage challenging meeting participants. The three videos are available to watch on Microsoft Stream and can be accessed by clicking the image below.
