The Ways of Working work stream was added to the ourcambridge programme as a result of your ideas. It complements Supporting our Staff and Simplifying our Processes, although there is inevitably some overlap. Ways of Working covers a variety of themes which include digital workplace, working practice, communication, working environment.

Digital workplace

The digital systems and devices needed to support modern working practice (e.g. computer, phone, email, calendar, collaboration tools, file sharing, video conferencing).

Working practice

Maximising our tools and using modern approaches to work efficiently and effectively. 


Enabling staff to keep up to date with University activity, and access shared information to help navigate the University and find relevant people and groups.

Working environment

Site-based administration and maximising our work spaces across the University.  

The next step is to establish a Ways of Working Board (the Chair is Karen Kennedy). We will also establish a Working Group and enter a Discovery Phase, where we will identify and prioritise key issues. We can then propose and embed solutions, perhaps on a pilot basis.
